Building a pool in the Eastern Suburbs? Here’s what you need to know.

No two Eastern Suburbs blocks are the same, but after enough years building concrete pools across Sydney's eastern suburbs, the same handful of challenges turn up again and again. Here's what we've learned dealing with them — not in theory, on site.

Sandy soil close to the beach (like Project Robey)
Being this close to the water means sandy, less stable ground is the norm, not the exception. Proper shoring before excavation isn't optional — it's standard on every site we touch out here. We plan for it from the start, so it doesn't become a delay once we're already in the ground.

Steep, sloping blocks (like Project Vaucluse)
Vaucluse, Dover Heights and similar suburbs often mean retaining walls and level changes from the start. We build that into the design early — the slope becomes a feature, not an obstacle.

Tight access on steep sites (like Project Watson)
Steep blocks often bring narrow driveways and tight turning circles with them — cranes and trucks don't always get a straight run in. We plan equipment and sequencing around it before we're on site, not once we hit a wall in the driveway.

Restricted street access (like Project Roscoe)
Narrow streets and limited parking are the norm on a lot of these blocks, and sometimes a council permit is needed just to have a truck stationary out front for the day. We sort that logistics and paperwork before delivery day, not on it.
