A family dream pool in Woolooware.

Here at Cronulla Pools, every project we undertake is unique. Each has its own challenges and its own incredible results. And a recent project completed in Taywood Street, Woolooware was no exception.

Long before we came into the picture, the Woolooware project began with one family’s dream of a pool. In fact, when our clients chose their home, the thought of a place to splash, swim and sit by the water factored in heavily.

“We immediately fell in love with the layout [of our home] — and particularly how we envisioned the ‘pool dream’ integrating into it. With two little kids who still need nap time, being able to entertain at home with family and friends instead of having to constantly go out was the dream. We wanted our house to be our sanctuary, our little paradise,” our Taywood Street client told us.

So, they enlisted us to help make their dreams come true. Not only did this include the construction of a pool, but it also featured landscaping. Having an in-house design meant we were able to draw up landscaping plans to best utilise the space and compliment the pool design.

The collaborative effort kicked off with plenty of conversations and a few tough decisions.

“Choosing the layout was quite hard – specifically the orientation – and ensuring that we met all of the compliance regulations. We also needed to consider some playing area for the kids, but Kate and Matt [at Cronulla Pools] helped us achieve this, understanding exactly what we were after due to having kids around the same age as ours.”

But, tough decisions weren’t the only tricky part of the Woolooware pool project. As the house sat on a subdivided block, getting the equipment and machinery needed to build the pool into the backyard presented a challenge. (The side path to access the yard was less than a metre wide!) But, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

“We knew access was going to be a hurdle to overcome. Thankfully, our lovely neighbour removed that barrier by allowing us access through their property.”

So, with some neighbourly assistance, the project continued, and the dream pool was built. The final result was a beautiful 5x3m pool with clear white Beadcrete interiors, ‘Miami’ Leyla Mosaic waterline tiles, and Sandblasted Tundra Blue Limestone coping tiles. Oh, and did we mention the Theralux electric heating?

“We have already been using the pool throughout winter and know the usage will continue more frequently as the months get warmer.”

We love seeing a family’s dreams come true, so, needless to say, working on this project was a real joy. And, we are thrilled that our clients are already enjoying the results.

“We absolutely LOVE our finished pool. We are happy with every decision that we’ve made, especially about investing that little bit of extra money to ensure we had a completely finished product (pool and landscaping) that we could immediately use.”

We’d like to say a big thank you to our Taywood Street clients for choosing Cronulla Pools and sharing their story. We loved working with you to create your pool and wish you plenty of fun times in it.
